It is a 100-year-old royal temple where Luang Pho Phet statue and an 800-year-old Chiang San attitude of subduing Mara buddha statue are situated.
There is a story regarding Luang Pho Phet saying that Phra Phichit, the governor, wished to place a buddha statue in Phichit. When the Ayutthaya Army marched pass Phichit to suppress Chomtong Rebellion Chiang Mai, Phra Phichit has asked the commander in chief to seek for a Buddha stature for him. Once the war was over, the commander then invited Luang Pho Phet statue to Phichit for the governor. Since then until now, Luang Pho Phet has been the spiritual embodiment of Phichit locals.
