Heading northbound through Nakorn Sawan Province, if you spot a cartoon crocodile statue on a median then you have reached the Chalawan city “Phichit”!!! Speaking of which, many places in Phichit are using crocodile statue as their reception including “Si Fai Lake”. The lake in the third largest lake in Thailand. The Crocodile reception here is 6 meters wide, 5 meters high and over 38 meters long. He is proudly standing up front to welcome all guests of the lake.
Entering the lake area, you will feel peaceful nature all around. Highlight of the lake will be shown at dusk, all sound and lights shining on the water will make selfie-taking irresistible. Moreover, Phichit Somdet Phra Sri Nakarinthra Park is also located here. It was built to honor Princess Sri Nakarinthra and celebrate her 80th birthday in 1984. Alongside the park is a bridge over the lake leading to a huge pavilion where guests can sit down and enjoy beautiful natural scenery and feed the fish. If children wish to learn more about freshwater fish, they can head to a nonagon pavilion or a nine-sided star building that stretch into the lake. This building is called “Chaloem Phrakiat Aquarium” where more than 20 species of fish is hosted and is operated by Phichit Inland Fisheries Research and Development Center. There will always be different species of fish being displayed and no entrance fee at all.
